Partworks island on the dance floor

We have created an island display on our dance floor to support the Charmed, Fifi, Harry Potter, Felicity Wishers and Yu Gi Oh partworks. It’s in a high traffic area and is driving good impulse sales.

While we also promote these partworks in the appropriate categories in our magazine area, we always find that we get more business with this high traffic promotion - especially while the TV commercials are running.

The island display is a little smaller that when we started as we have sold plenty of stock this past week.

Mark, I bought the first issue of Fifi’s world for my 4yo daughter, and asked my newsagent to set a copy aside for us each fortnight. There’s even a card inside for parents to pass to their newsagent to request that.

When I look at the website http://www.fifis-world.com, though, they are offering free gifts (four, apparently quite substantial gifts: A DVD, umbrella, bag and mobile) for people who subscribe directly, cutting out their newsagent. These are not available by redemption, but only for direct subscriptions.

I won’t be doing it, because I get great service from my local newsagent and because I think the experience of walking up and collecting the next issue is exciting & engaging for children, but I’m sad that my daughter won’t be able to get those products.

    Melissa,

Thank you for your support of newsagents.

It is disappointing that newsagents are not offered these gifts where they enter into an over the counter subscription agreement with customers. I have taken this up with the importer and they are seeing how it could be handled.

Smart newsagents manage their subscriber / putaway customers electronically and can therefore verify back to the importer the details. This is where we may find a solution.

Thanks again for you support. Newsagents will be happy to read it.

    Hi,
Just found this site, and was wondering if anyone knew how many issues there will be in this FIFI magazine series??

    And Melissa,
I agree on how exciting it is for the children to go and receive their magazine from the counter.. It is a learning/life experience for them.

At least you are getting your issues. I subscribed over a month ago and haven’t received anything.
