I have announced this morning the sale of the Find It free online classifieds website for an undisclosed sum. While Find It attracted more than 20,000 advertisements, less than half of 1% of these were placed newsagents – even though such ads (including business listings) were free. Without newsagent support, the Find It model could not work for newsagents - hence this difficult decision.

MARK FLETCHER SHOULD BECOME THE NEW PRESIDENT OF A NEW NEWSAGENCY CO-OPERATIVE-NO FEES .LETS HELP EACH OTHER OUT.AT LEAST HE KNOWS WHAT HE IS DOING AND HE CAN BE TRUSTED.

That has already been tried but newsagents would not support it. I think it was called united newsagents, Mark has some great ideas but like the borders idea he has mentioned we need 100% support from all or it is just hot air. Also being president does not mean your views are always carried out.

We had a crack and failed. You can’t make people support something they either don’t understand or want. Thanks for your comments. Mark

    Hi Mark,
Im somewhat confused? Ive read so many positive blogs and articles on the findit.com.au website, all of which seemed to indicate that the site was proving a success.

Why is it all of a sudden that the site is down and newsagents are not supporting it?

Is it simply a case of newsagencies being run by owners with old school mindsets????

John, Newsagents expressed interest and even signed contracts to represent Find It. Very few actually listed their businesses or engaged with the site. They demonstrated that it was not part of where they saw their future.
