Success with The Art of Knitting

art_knit_36.JPGThe Art of Knitting continues to be a great partworks success for us at Forest Hill. We have eleven committed putaway customers and, thankfully, we get all the stock we need to satisfy their orders. To be in this situation by issue 36 is excellent.

We’re not so luck on some other partworks. Under-supply means putaway customers cancel orders and we either lose the business or go into the backorder black hole and lose time, money and our reputation.

Partwork publishers, the importer and distributors need to look at our numbers for The Art of Knitting and understand the scope of the opportunity if they get the model right.

at the start of the latest round of partworks we were told that things would be different regarding availablilty of stock, seems as though nothing has changed.

The only partwork series which we have had no problems with is Felicity Wishes. All the others seem to be constantly short on supply, unfortunately forcing us to ‘pick and choose’ which putaway customers are lucky enough to get the limited supply, therefore forcing our customers to cancel putaway subscriptions altogether. Very frustrating.

Hi. I loved the magazine. I started buying it, but by the 10th one I couldn’t afford it! I have done so many of those 10 squares it’s not funny. I am so upset that I missed out on the rest of the collection. I thourghly enjoyed that magazine, and i still enjoy the few issues that I have.
