Real Life Bugs and Insects

bugs_insects.JPGThe Real Life Bugs and Insects paperwork released today is sure to be a hit, especially with the dead insect included with each part.  We have it at the front of the shop to connect with the TV campaign supporting the launch – although I have not see this and don’t therefore know if newsagents are tagged.  Regardless, we have high hopes for the initial issues.

Retail real-estate is going to be a challenge between now and early next year.  Diaries are in, calendars too as well as some Christmas product.  Finding space to professional display products like Real Life Bugs is difficult in newsagencies.

Wouldnt like…thousands of insects have to be specifically killed for this? i cant exactly see people going around scavenging for dead insects…

and if so…Isnt it slightly cruel?

No newsagents in the NT are carrying this publication. Can I order this online?

    Hi Bethany,
when the newsagent does his early morning deliveries he then scrapes off the dead insects from the windscreen and forwards them to ACP in sealed plastic bags. More commission is made on a splattered moth than a newspaper

I sold out in the first few days yet still i get phone calls from network services for a sales history ,so my question is why make the phone call in the first place when they already know they are sold .There opening line is ,is the count still zero . This probally explains why they have no idea what stock to send and you end up with to many or nowhere near enough .

Mark – tried to do this but no newsagents in the NT were stocking this. So I had to get someone to send up the 1st issue from Adelaide and then subscribe from there.

Well got the latest bug in today and it is your typical part works at its best, undersupply yet again i sold out by 8:00 and now the back order trail begins .I just don’t get why they do the sales checks every day when they take no notice of what the sales are .If you sell out one week why send half the amount the following week .The only successful part works i have had so far are the aussie movies collection, the supply has been excellent and i have picked up new customers every week because i have the supply on hand .

Many of the stickers for this collection are missing, because the publishers really don’t have a clue what’s going on to be honest. This has to be one of the worst planned maganizes ever. Anyway, along the way they issue new stickers for bugs that they originally hadn’t planned on including. However, that being said there are a set of missing stickers tht can only be obtained from contacting the publisher directly. These are for insects from the very start of the series. Towards the end there will be even more missing stickers, not sure what’s going to happen there though:/

To answer the other question about how many issues there are, there are 55 all up.

is anyone else getting insects specimens that look like they been scrapped of a car bumper? I always seem to get issue that have a bug with missing limbs, torn wings or bubbles in the plastic. Is it right that sort of quality gets offered to customers? Especially at a $13 price tag for a magazine.

I am the only customer at one of the local newsagents who buys this magazine, the other newsagent refuses to have partworks because they are nothing but trouble. At first there was no trouble getting it, now its like a phantom, turns up when it likes and I am now several issues behind. Some of the bug specimens are quite good, but the giant centipede was badly shrivelled, not good at all.My collection is up to Issue 67…will it end at 70, 80, 100 or what? The website is crap and tells you nothing. Not only that, I ordered a back issue from the publisher 7 weeks ago and have yet to hear from them. I am beginning to wonder if the magazine has ended?

Been buying this for my daughter from our local newsagent, when is it going to end, we are up to issue 47 but it doesnt tell you anywhere in the magazine on the online site what the mag goes up too, will quit soon if they dont let me know. All the display cases we got are smashed and our newsagent told me to contact the magazine hows that for customer service, also missing stickers, not real happy with it and it cost a lot too.

I think we are all gettin taken for a ride. They are just pumping out crap and we are paying top dollar for it. Maybe we all should stop supporting this mass insect kill.

They breed the bugs especially for this series, just incase anyone is concerned about any species becoming endangered.

Andrew: There are special insect farms in tropical countries specifically to provide specimens for collectors, science, and for pets, simply google “insect farm”.
