Finding new Back To School customers

sbg_bts.JPGThe cool designs of the Spencer Burford range are attracting new Back To School customers.  It is good to have a range which visually appeals to the students compared to notebooks newsagents have sold in the past - fashion sells after all.  While there is a place for traditional designs for school and university notebooks, these new-look products position us with the generation newsagents often struggle to reach.

I have also just put in the spencer burford range and it is very attractive.
My stationery rep is always reprimanding me for not getting more of his product but I continually source product away from their range (Ancol) because it is not
up to date and looks tired.
Smiggle is a company I liked enormously but they have gone into retail and have opened a shop 3 doors from my shop and I have to fight fire with fire so I am constantly on the lookout for something
    new.

    June,

Fashion is where the money is in stationery (and a whole lot of other categories come to think of it). GNS/Ancol don’t/can’t see this. We’ve been sourcing more and more stationery direct over the past twelve months and are at a point where less than a third of our range is from GNS.

PS. I love smiggle too :-)
