The Notebook closure was not planned

notebook-subscription.jpgBased on subscription promotion in the latest issue of Notebook magazine, out just last week, the closure must have been a last minute decision by the publisher.  The image shows a subscription ad from the latest issue.

I remain surprised at the decsision to close the title give others which fewer sales which continue to be published.

It will be interesting to see how the closure of the magazine affect sales of the Notebook diary – we received our usual supply.

Perhaps the magazine couldn’t attract sufficient advertising $$. That more than number of sales of the mag may have been the determining factor in the decision?

This decision by News Ltd baffles me. In my hop it was a tremendous seller and a big hit with the pink rinse set. I can’t see how News could close this ahead of some other duds they supply me with. Personally whoever made the decision to remove the flowers off the cover, it’s strongest differentiation to other magazines killed this magazine. Vail Notebook. Truly one of the better recently launched magazines…
