Is The Age broadsheet or tabloid?

The Saturday Age today is in broadsheet format and this is confusing some shoppers brought to the products through the fanfare of this week’s launch to a tabloid format.

Perhaps Fairfax see the age as a table paper at weekends even while they try to attract commuters. This will confuse customers and maybe a paper that needs a dining table to read it on is now defunct anyway.

Same thing with the SMH Compact (Tabloid) Mon to Fri and Sun which was always Tabloid and Saturday Broadsheet. By the way the Canberra Times (also Fairfax) has not changed it is still Broadsheet Mon to Sat and Tabloid Sun like the SMH was and I think the Age (not sure what it was on a Sunday).

    So much for brand consistency.

I had some fun with some customers, and told them that the SMH had changed back because the compact format was not popular…

there will be some confused people again today (monday)

My post was rather confusing too. I meant to get across that they will probably win over commuters with the Mon to Friday format and think that a broadsheet format will work at weekends. I’m for trhe same format everyday but it will be interestng to see what the readers think.
