NSW Lotteries indemnity insurance

Q-Sure now has the ability to cover NSW Lotteries Indemnity. $620.00 with $20,000,000 Fidelity Cover and $30,000,000 Errors and Omissions. Qsure can place quickly and notify NSW Lotteries direct to save time. I mention this as a service. I have no commercial arrangement whatsoever in relation to this. I mention it here to help newsagents save money.

is there a difference for NSW because last year I am sure I paid just under $300 in qld .

Shauns, there are different requirements/limits of cover for NSW and QLD which is why the premium is different. Our price for QLD, VIC, TAS, NT & SA starts from $220 per outlet.

NANA reads this blog and sent out an email that appears to be a direct response. Very strange.

Just a side note on Insurances. I would STRONGLY URGE everybody to review their business Insurances. I recently went with a broker who saved me over $2300.00 on my insurance this year. I am still insured with a top level company and now have a broker who will review my insurances on a yearly basis. Before hand I was with an “agent”……there is a massive difference. There is also massive differences between companies. Some Insurance companies are offering very very good rates to attract new customers. Check it out, I`m sure you will save heaps.

    Cheers

Has anyone from NSW taken this up instead of Newspack?

It appears that Newspack doesn’t know how to combat a competitor with a much cheaper premium, and in actual fact a broader policy coverage. The policy does meet the requirements of cover as defined by NSW Lotteries and we await thier confirmation next week. Brittany Kang at Tatts Group on 07 3435 4545 can confirm our position. NewsSure

The excess is also less than on our current NSW policies.

Not with my policy at the moment but there is an admin fee of $110(from memory) what is this for? Often we just pay without questioning or shopping around for a better deal. Am curious if any one else is switching, pretty sure we will.

The competition in Insurance has grown in the last few years. I suggest anyone with ANY kind of insurance shop around. We HALVED our house and contents recently – it’s the current financial climate, don’t just roll over…..

Bretts, we have been insuring Newsagencies for over 15 years now. The fact is that we have become annoyed at trying to get our old insurers – QBE who also underwrite Newspack to lower thier rates in accordance with the other States. Newspack have the lions share of NSW newsagents so it’s money in the tin as far as they are concerned so why lower the rates. We, NewsSure, simply went to a new market. Lloyds, and asked them to look at this realistically and they did – so we got exceptionally good premiums. We are a small business insurance broker just like every newsagent is a small business. Newspack is brokered by a major international insurance broker. The real question is why haven’t they done this and why hasn’t ‘your association’ pressed for it. I believe they also make money out of this – check your Newspack paperwork and you will see it in the fine print. I can only leave the Newsagents of NSW to pass judgement – my experience in newsagency insurance 15 years – our insurer Lloyds – the great grandfather of the insurance industry and one of the most respected brands in the world.

Jenny we have many taken our offer – it is not in any way a cheap and nasty policy written by some unknown insurer. We value our reputation and back that with our 15+ years of experience in insuring newsagencies. Vested interests will always cast doubt on the opposition and we have survived plenty of that to still shine. Look at the interest generated by just offering an alternative – we have disturbed a hornets nest of which only positive can come for newsagents. You have been paying too much as it stands.

Ian I chased up Qsure today not Newsure. Am sure you arent cheap and nasty. What are your 2 cover amounts (guessing they are what we have with Newspack) and what are the excess amounts?

Jenny, our policy is for $30m errors & omissions and $20m fidelity. The excess is $5000. The only difference is that Newspack have a $1000 excess on the errors & omissions. The excess, although relevant, is not a critical factor given the prospect of claim. The point of sale terminals make it very difficult to make errors thanks to the efforts of NSW Lotteries. We have had no claims at all since the inception of these compulsory policies. I hope this helps.

NewsSure IS APPROVED by NSW Lotteries for both Errors & Omissions and Fidelity. They will be notifiying agents on their retailers web today. Some organisations will stop at nothing to discredit a legitimate alternative product – especially when it is 30% cheaper. NewsSure can still write your Fidelity and your Errors & Omissions for this renewal period. Save yourself the $300.

Here at NewsSure we are at it again – driving the price of the compulsory NSW lotteries insurance down. Last year we challenged your association with a premium that was 30% lower than what their recommended insurers were charging. They responded by making claims of non compliance and lack of knowledge of the industry (despite our practice of insuring newsagents for over 15 years – 10 years longer than they).

Well, this year we have fought hard to reduce our compulsory lotteries insurance again – we have taken a further 20% off our premiums making it a total premium (inc GST) of $480 and we ARE COMPLIANT. So join the NewsSure Lotteries Offer and SAVE.

Ask yourself the question when they say they will match the lowest premium – “Why didn’t they offer their lowest premium in the first place”. NewsSure are the pioneers of insurance premium reduction for your Lotteries Insurance.

Don’t forget about NewsSure’s Mandatory Lottery Insurance rates at $195 per Newsagent – It’s been a while since we put ourselves out there as a competitor and instigator of a Lotteries Insurance price war. Remember the days when NSW lottery agents were paying $900 each for this cover. NewsSure have crashed the premium.
