Promoting the AFL Grand Final Record

We’re promoting the AFL Grand Final Record at the front of the newsagency next to our Hallmark AFL cards and our AFL licenced beanie Kids. This front of store placement is to attract traffic from the mall. The placement of the record next to newspapers is to attract impulse purchases from our newspaper customers. Early indications are good.

Gosh if only I was a newsagent in Melbourne. You guys obviously get special treatment. Here in Adelaide the
footy record has NOT EVEN APPEARED AS YET. Have missed dozens of potential sales as people still want the record even if their team isn’t in the grand final.
Why am I not even angry or surprised any more?
Anyway GO FREO – any team except a melbourne based one will do.

Hi, Can anyone tell me whether any newsagencies in Sydney (preferably inner West) will be stocking the Grand Final edition of the AFL Football record.

Had a customer claim we were ripping them off by charging $15 (the set price). They claim you will be able to buy it in Melbourne on game day for $5! Anyone in Melbourne know if this is correct?

Bruce, that customer drives a DeLorean.

In other news, I saw that Gotch generated invoices for other possible match combinations (eg Port V North). I would hope these don’t end up on the end of month statement…

Got the footy record last Thursday (2 days to go to the GF) and so, of course, sales were next to nil – no time to market
or place it where it had the most potential
    for sales.
I am in SA but we are a footy state and the record (once again) being so late, hindered possible sales.
Oh, well, into returns it goes and we look inefficient when we face the public.
