That’s Life and Take 5 have good offers this week

Both That’s Life and Take 5 offer excellent value this week that should drive impulse purchases. These are issues to get in prominent positions.

magst5dec2013The Take 5 card Christmas card kit is a nice gift with purchase. Make sure customers can see the whole front cover. This is a good issue to feature at the counter. It’s also one to mention to appropriate shoppers when they are browsing magazines.

magstldec2013The That’s Life free cash opportunity will be popular – it always is when offered with the magazine. This, too, is a magazine to have in a prime second location like the counter. The REAL CASH pitch on the cover is the key – make sure it’s seen.

Both these titles have had a touch time in recent sales audits. The publishers are investing in making them more appealing. We need to equally invest to drive impulse purchases.

Mark, I totally disagree with all the add on rubbish on Take 5 and T/Life. It doesn’t fit well into our fittings and it looks untidy and AWW is another example this month with the small cookbook on the front.
Even the bulks on the base look dreadful because they don’t sit straight.
I think these publishers are prostituting their product by adding this rubbish, and I don’t (IMHO) think it adds to sales or to
the consumer thinking he/she is getting a bargain.
My kid section looks terrible with all the rubbish and it makes me send early returns because it doesn’t fit into our
    magazine stands correctly or neatly.
I probably lose sales with this attitude but
after going from 1200 pockets to 750 pockets I have to retain the product that fits well and sells well and it is a constant
choice on mag days as to what I will keep and how many will fit.
    Am I alone in this?

June I’m finding them displaying okay. Deeper pockets than usual helps.

Take 5, sold out in three days. Too many That’s Life unsold. Many of my customers buy both, but those that only buy one are 80% buying Take 5.

That’s Life sells around 50% more than Take 5 for me.

Anyone else have their take 5 allocation reduced this week?
I’ve been reduced from 35 to 24 and Take 5 pocket puzzler from 17 to 2?
This is on top of being sent 5 years supply on a wedding mag last week.
