Much interest in UK Mother’s Day?

ukmumWith Mother’s Day in the UK this past Sunday (Mothering Sunday) I am curious about the value of this minor season for Australian newsagents. We had a range of UK cards out and on show and while there was some interest it was not as strong as I have seen in the past. I would love to hear how it went for others compared to previous years.

We have done it for years. It was more successful at Forest Hill for us – a strong UK connected population. Your card co should be able to assist.

One enquiry this year. I hold back a small number of cards from last years Mothers Day so I have something to pull out when asked. Saves the card companies doing anything special.

We did some but do have a large UK area. It’s the first time we’ve had them as we only switched to Hallmark last year. A lot of the customers where impressed that we had them. I put them on the counter as I want to push the fact that we are a card specialist and have options that Coles (our anchor) don’t offer. For that it’s been very effective.

Sands always put in a small range of UK
Mothers’ day and St Patrick’s day cards,
    and we always sell them.
It enhances us as the “go to” store when these small but important dates occur.
We also do quite a large range of Chinese New Year cards as they have increased year on year
