Coles Goondiwindi breaches magazine on-sale obligations

The issue of The Australian Women’s Weekly due on sale tomorrow is already being sold at Coles Express Goondwindi this morning. If a newsagent did this they would be failed for selling a title before the on-sale. It’s frustrating that Coles appears to be getting away with this.

UPDATE: still on display at 4:15pm today – after both Gotch and Network were involved.

I have successfully engaged with Coles on Twitter and they say they will speak with the store manager. Let’s see what happens.

I just find it weird that AWW has been delivered before the onsale date. Is that normal?

The excuse they came up with was ” we had a new staff member ” what a load of ……… Wonder what the excuse was last week then ?

Murray that’s the excuse I’d expect from Coles. They appear to accept no responsibility.

If Coles puts theirs out early so should every newsagent in the town. Sure they all get delivered at the same time.

This used to happen in SA for some years.

After been told that Bauer has contacted the store and told them to remove it as they were in breach of contract Coles Express still have NOT removed the AWW Take 5 or Thats Life as of 4.15pm today. I wonder what would happen if us newsagents ignored the warning from Bauer ?

Just had a customer asking if I could go out the back to grab her next Mondays womens day and new idea . So it must be pretty common in other towns . Mine do not turn up until the early morning the day of onsale .
