Set to go with Disney promotion

p1setWe have the first part of the Disney book set News Corp. promotion ready for tomorrow. The stock is unpacked, ready for what we expect will be a rush from when we open. We are used to leakage from supermarket newspaper sales so it will be interesting to see how it plays out this time. It all depends on how well others with this in our shopping centre are prepared. Our stock is behind the counter so customers can see and to make it easy to show a sell-out if that is what happens.

We had none to display as all were pre-ordered. Big mistake putting Frozen on the first one as I will be surprised if a lot of people come back for the others. It was Frozen that was the attraction and it is so popular so why didn’t they make it number14 in the set.

Reckon you’re right, Carol. Not a single customer came in and asked if we had the Disney Read Along boos; they all asked if we had Frozen! Great day for sales yesterday, would be good if the pattern continues, but I suspect there will be a taper off.

Toy Story, Cars and Frozen should have been the last 3 IMHO.

Sold our paltry 80 in 84 minutes. Of the 80, 20 were purchased with a paper instore, 58 were home delivery or supermarket customers who purchased NOTHING else, 2 home delivery/supermarket customers purchased a magazine each with a book.
Would not cover staff labour to unpack or sell them. Newscorp are the only winners with this.
