Terrific newsletter from GNS

Click here to see an excellent newsletter from GNS management. I share the link here with permission.

I say the newsletter is terrific because of the depth of information presented, the outlining of strategies for the business and the openness of the communication itself. The newsletter is full of facts.

GNS is a victim of considerable ill-informed gossip by newsagent suppliers and newsagents. Given the business is owned by newsagents, newsagents ought to take more care with this asset.

Thanks Mark for posting this on the blog – it is much appreciated. We do hope it gets read and we intend to produce Issue 2 for distribution around Mid-July or sooner.

We would certainly welcome any feedback and also what would be useful for future editions. It is not meant to be a product or promotional vehicle as such, and is intended to provide information on what we are doing to make GNS a better business partner in today’s challenging market.

The name “Chain Mail” was intended to be a play on both our logo concept around “links” in the chain as well as the old Chain Mail concepts of yesteryear (but not for the same reasons!).

Some people have reported it being held as SPAM due to the wording of Chain Mail. Hopefully this hasn’t created these issues.

Gns is moving in the right direction. It’s good Alex drops in here to keep abreast of our issues. Some further interaction with big stationery newsagents could be of benefit as well. We all have a vested interest in growing stationery, and it’s a very big part of our business. Have already spoken to a couple of guys from gns and more than happy to provide feedback.

Rick I agree re Alex. His transparency and engagement with newsagents through this place is good leadership.

Mark. It is a pity that transparency or communication is not filtered through to their employees. But I suppose now they have a rag they can read to keep them informed of what is going on?

    Dear “Former Employee”,

Interesting comments……but I’m not really sure on your point here?

We also had a version of this Newsletter created for internal use. Additionally and somewhat ironically at the same time, I have just spent most of the day presenting to all staff in NSW DC on the business, and what we are doing to be a better business and employer to our staff. This represents around 50 people. Most of them have read the Newsletter too….

It does not surprise me one bit that you have missed the point here???? All I can get from your response is that you are trying to convince yourself.

Former, why not contact Alex direct? He makes himself accessible. Sometimes the fastest way from A to B is in a direct line.

Peter B . Typical response from someone else who doesnt understand people management. Not disgruntled at all. Relieved is more appropriate.
Mark – Alex asked for opinions so he got one. Simple. No need for chit chat.
