Gordon and Gotch call waiting time at 1 hour + for newsagents

Several newsagents contacted me today about call wait times with Gotch of an hour and more. The impact on productivity is extraordinary. magazine publishers ought to lobby Gotch to improve this urgently as it is sales of their magazines that are impacted.

I am posting there here for the newsagents who asked me to place the topic.

i lost trust in GG for reordering extra NRL and AFL trading cards, the chance of missing is 99% and they will deny credit. I WILL NEVER ORDER EXTRA FROM GG ANYMORE! I will find an alternative supplier instead from now for all trading cards.

GG’s good fortune to be get Bauer’s business does not mean they will invest to cater for increased size of business. They will muddle through with temporary fixes and milk the business for short term profit gain. Anybody who thinks otherwise fails to see how monopolies work.

we have cancelled POKEMON cards from G&G, and have gone private, better service and margin from private . G&G have gone rubbish service, some titles from NDC we are not receiving from G&G ,so we are moving on having more gifts and toys range. G&G is killing the magazine industry.INCOMPETENT is the words best describe G&G. there needs to be another distributor to NDC but not G&G. wish G&G was gone, not NDC.

Another reason I’m not a member of the ANF/QNF. What is the association doing about this for their members? My guess is nothing.

Of my experience QNF/ANF hasn’t done anything for newsagent, they are just like politican. all the promises and deliver nothing.

Some really valid points here. from what im hearing is that the joint is leaking money like a sieve as they dont have the staff to service the clients nor the staff to efficiently pick pack and deliver and are making plenty of errors. And they dont care….. I honestly believe Network closing was the worst thing that could have happened for us as retailers.

While people can comment what they like, I think the best comments are factual evidence of your experience as this is what will matter most right now. Leave the politics for another time.

Completely given up calling Gotch, whose got that amount of time free to waste being on hold. I just email now but thats not much better, received an reply yesterday 5 days after I emailled them which is about what its been since the transition, so thats not improving.
Ordered extra AFL albums on !9/5/16 and extra AFL cards on 30/5/16. Received a generic mass email from Gotch on 1/6/16 saying there was plenty of stock and if you order more it will be sent on the next available run, well I’m still waiting.
Sent an email on Monday chasing it up, I’ll be surprised if I get a response this week. Shortage rejections when the stock hasn’t turned up, allocations below historic sales and its near impossible to get in contact with them. The transition been an A grade cock-up so far.

Hey Hey Hey, either things are improving or someone at Gotch is reading this blog. Just received an email confirming my AFL cards and albums order, apparently my order wasn’t in the system. I wont bother pointing out the online order confirmation emails I’ve received from Gotch, I’ll just chalk it up as another cock-up on their behalf.

Touch wood, apart from long phone queues we haven’t experienced any more issues than normal. Yes we have issues but not a notable increase.

We were desperately trying to get hold of gotch in regards to our bill, 3 of us were ringing them, on hold for a minimum of 20 minutes. Then phone would go flat/had to serve etc.
finally got through and the woman said ill put you through to accounts, got a voice recording, left a message pleading to ring me urgently. No one called me back so started the process again, finally got through and got a woman who argued black and blue they dont have a voice recording-bizarre.- told me my supplies were cut off bad luck. Rang again the next day got another woman who also denied a recording message, after i relayed exactly what was on the message she said that yes they do have one but that woman has left because shes sick. Finally got my supplies reinstated but that sorry saga went over 11 days-no apology, no explanation. Once again our statement is extraordinarily high and we are trying to communicate with them. Clearly we know there is an issue with our account, but their attitude is pay up or else, but our bill has gone from around $16000 per month to around $22000 per month,

Yep , had a similar issue with the increase in my account. Part was due to the change over , but part definately wasn’t and appeared to be oversupply by Gotch. Again also check your supplies tomorrow and don’t forget to early return with end of month coming up as on tomorrows delivery I’ve had at least three strange and unwarranted spikes on supply of some of tomorrows delivery and that bloody stupid, unwanted and expensive Stationery News magazine is in again after they promised to cancel it last time. Also note they don’t appear to have credited the last issues charge that they said they would.

Same story here I am getting unwarranted spikes in supply eg JUST BIKES normally get 10 and return some this time I received 19

Another example is BACON BUSTERS normally get 11 with returns today I received 17

But yet cut me back on stock I can seel and have a strong history of selling eg 3D printing , the Art of Chrochet ,both of these I have been cut back on when I have sales history stating I need them .

There is definitely a cash grab going on from GG. The amount of stuff arriving and the timing within the month can not be accidental. Sending months and months of stock of collectable cards and stickers seems to be the ploy. Big dollar value items and a reluctance to early return is the catch. Never had so much stock of footy cards and albums. Good but bad if you know what I mean.

Our account went from $17,000 maximum gotch/network combined to $27,000 gotch only.

Returns used to be just under $4,000 per week. In the last 3 weeks we have returned $15,500 with a larger cull next week.

Have noticed many more $20 – $25 mags and quite a a few others have increased in price. When we reduce the numbers of mags on the website, we get others doubling up, or so called new mags are sent.

    The magazine system is bullshit!!
