Intralot has started appointing scratchie-only outlets in a move which is sure to upset newsagents who paid a considerable fee for the right these and other Intralot products.
In one situation of which I am aware, Intralot has placed scratchies in an IGA supermarket less than 1km from from a newsagency.
While I am all for competition, I am concerned about this move as it dilutes the position I and plenty of newsagents paid a premium for.
One of my milk bar sub-agents was approached by Intralot about this.
From memory, I think the fees were $1,000 per year plus $10 per week.
My subbie decided it wasn’t worth the cost.
would be funny at iga with 10 people in a line getting groce4rys and the day after fathers day someone walks in with 30 scratchies to check
My local iga supermarket was offered a full offer contract initially for $5000.. he renegged then was reoffered for same for $1000 for both scratchies and machine he still renegged..intralot then went to the local sportsclub/ pokie venue and tried both offers again.with them..both rejected again thank god….both these venues have 6 current tatts/intralot operators that paid the full price 18 months ago all within a 5 km radius…what a disgrace
Have many/any Licencees handed back their Intralot Licence. I am losing money every week and it is still going to cost me $1,800 to bail out. I could have given it to the local Tatts Agent, but this is even more expensive($10,500?)
When I went to pay for my petrol at a United petrol station, I noticed that they too were selling Intralot scratchies.
suggest you read The Age about Intralot losses
my local newsagent is always running out of stock for three weeks over christmas they were out had them for one week and there out again so give them to other outlets mabye they will keep stock
