A newsagent in Brisbane was asked to honour the price on this Woolworths coupon for News Corp. newspapers:
If News Corp. is behind this offer, shame on them for making Woolworths look cheap compared to the local small business newsagent who has the titles at full price.
It is galling that this $1 price is considerably lower than the cost price of the newspapers to newsagents.

I politely told a customer that the offer is only at Woolworths as per coupon he still ended buying it from me at full price obviously News limited are desperate to increase circulation and bend backwoods to supermarkets once again
I think they are actually bending forwards, even right over, for the supermarkets.
Glenn I think that is because the supermarkets offer easy national compliance on price based offers. While newsagents can do this, newspaper publishers have not facilitated ease of consistency of driving such offers in newsagencies because of a fundamental lack of trust of small business, in my opinion.
It is disappointing this is happening at a time of price increases.
