Halloween is not Halloween without a coffin

The coffin arrived and is now in place as the centrepiece of our Halloween 2013 display. Sadly, like all Halloween centrepieces, it will probably sell early.

We’re making the most of the opportunity and showing others in the centre how to do Halloween – we;re expecting their displays this year to be like last, very vanilla (boring).

Sales continue to be excellent – up on 2012.

Extremely cranky with one of my suppliers. That should actually read “Very F*@%!&g CRANKY”.
As you know Mark, my store has embraced Halloween and we do extremely well out of the season. We rang a supplier yesterday to see where our “Props” were, only to be told that we did not have an order in the system. This order was faxed to them back in January, the representative queried “why an order would have been done so early in the year”, so we wouldnt miss out was our answer. It was a pre printed order form for Halloweeen Props, it even had their Company Logo on it and she wanted to know why we would have done an order so early.
Anyway I am starting to ramble because I am so bloody cranky.
These props we ordered were going to be a central key in our 2013 Halloween display that we have been planning and visualising since last years effort. 3 weeks out and I dont know how we are going to do it now.
I suppose I wil just have to buy some pumpkins and do a display like you would find at woolies……….BORING!!!!!

I emailed with our marketing group enquiring where our posters were so that we could dress the shop window up to further promote our instore display. Was told they get delivered with the xmas posters which will be late due to ‘circumstances beyond our control’. We will get them at the end of next week which leaves a week and half promotion period. Talk about cranky and not bloody good enough. They will be too late for Halloween and too early for xmas.

Alan, perhaps a hitman for the supplier and then you can get a “real” coffin.
Just joking – know how you feel. We were let down last year by a supplier for some of our Xmas stock which was to have been my central theme and this year when I went to the gift fair they raced out to see me to get an order and I cut off my nose to spite my face and told them I
had “purchased elsewhere” this year because of their lack of effort last year.
They just said “we lost the order” and that
was their excuse. Some of the people with whom we deal are not very good at
    customer service.
