Newsagent dies as a result of armed robbery

Chinh Nguyen, the owner of Glenfield newsagency in NSW died this morning as a result of injuries sustained during and armed robbery at his newsagency last week. I never personally met Chinh but people in my company did: Chinh was a breath of fresh air. An example of an enthusiastic and excited breed of Newsagent making a positive impact in his shop and the industry. He will be missed.

Newsagents don’t get killed on the job. Chin’s passing will come as a shock to the channel. It’s a reminder to take care.

Chinh’s brother is taking over the running of the business for the family. In addition to the grief of the loss of Chinh is the challenge of learning the business and protecting the family investment.

The news report can be found at NSW Police.

A reminder indeed. A reminder for ourselves to put safety first, and to review, renew and remind our staff of exactly what to do and what not to do in situations such as this.

Condolences to Chinh’s family and friends.

It so so important in today’s society that fellow Newsagents ensure that they have clear and concise procedures in place so that all members of their businesses understand what can happen during an armed robery, what procedures they must follow, and most importantly, what services are available after such a traumatic experience.
My deepest condolences go out to Chinh Nguyen’s family and friends. Here is a guy having a red hot go at making his business a success for himself and his family, it’s what Australia used to stand for. Such a Tradgedy! This sort of thing should not happen in this country. If there is anything my business can do to help Chinh Nguyen’s family just ask.

I would like to join others in expressing my sincerest sympathy and condolences on this tragedy to his family on what happened. He was obviously a brave and good man who died.

The thief killed a man for a $195.00.
