Promoting magazines on an LCD screen

lcd_acp.JPGACP magazines make it easy to maintain a relevant slide show on our LCD display at the counter. We have had the LCD in place for close to two years and for most of that time we created our own display. It was time consuming. For the moment we have switched to the ACP slideshow and are enjoying the time saving.

What we – the newsagents now using LCD displays – need is an easier way of merging content from Pacific Magazines, ACP Magazines and other publishers we want to promote – and in a way which more easily allows our content.

Customers notice these displays and I am certain the products promoted will benefit.

    Mark,

Where do you get the ACP feed for the magazine advertising on the screen. I checked the various ACP websites but couldn’t find a link. Is the content downloadable on a weekly basis? Thanks.

Thanks Scott. We adjust what Connections offers since our display is portrait. Their slides are for landscape use.

Digital signage is no doubt the best form of signage. But you are right in bring the issue of content and content management to the floor.

An industry wide standard is essential as is the use of a common content management platform.

The cost of purchasing and implementing a content management system available to the entire industy would be relativly inexpensive.

Newspaper publishers, magazine publishers, marketing groups and other suppliers could easily divide the cost of content hosting.

Making content available through a single content management system would allow individual newsagents to maintain complete control of the content while still having easy access to that content created by suppliers.

This is not really a difficult issue, just one that needs a holistic approach.
