More giving away runs

Nine newsagents have contacted me over the last three days to talk through the process of handing back their runs following my posts here a week ago. Most cite falling returns and heavy newspapers as their reasons. If the newsagents go through with their plans it will add to the woes of publishers in NSW with home delivery runs without a newsagent operator.

The Newsagents who are handing back thier runs, are they maintaining their Sub Agent distribution business or are they themselves becoming Sub Agents. This is an important point.I remember reading about an agent who did this and was turned into a subby himself. Imagine if on mass 50 agents advised the publishers that they could no longer maintain a home delivery run.

Rowan, Some do and some don’t. I did and have become a sub agent with no real negative impact on the business. Mark
