Software support fees

Bernard Zimmermann one of the owners of POS Solutions has slammed a newsagent software company for announcing a significant increase in software support fees.  I agree with Bernard.  Software support coverage should be priced fairly.  This is one reason the 1,500 Tower Systems newsagents are not being hit with the price increases being applied by whichever company Bernard blogs about.

    Stephan,

If he is talking about Tower then he is wrong. Our support fees have not gone up as he says.

    Mark,
He is comparing your new increased hourly rate against his hourly rate. I note this rate is for unsupported users or support that falls outside the scope of your support contract and that your annual support fee has not gone up.

    Stephan,

With Bernard it is hard to tell. If this is what he is referring to, then he gets it wrong on a range of fronts, as usual.

I just had a look at a blog post, this guy is playing mind games, he actually replies to his own blog posts under a different name.

Terrible way to run a business by playing with customers minds.

I just found out that I have to pay POS Solutions more than $3,200 this year or they shut my system down. The had said it would be $1,500.

$3,200 sounds about right to me.

$3,200 is ridiculous, especially for what POS provides. Depending on the size of your business it should be around half that without restrictions on XchangeIT and without a demand you pay to keep the software running.

Don’t pay $3,200 as it only encourages them.
