Pitching magazines around newspapers

newspapers_mags_may09.JPGWe are pitching Home Beautiful, the Melbourne Observer, OK!, Time and Super Food Ideas around our newspapers this week.  We have cover the two biggest magazine publishers, support an independent newspaper, recycle an old magazine display unit and support two lower volume magazines – good use of newspaper space I’d say.  The OK! display is the Alpha magazine stand recycled.

Eric, they are opposite the counter. Theft is minimal, certainly no worse than our overall average. Customers like to browse ink. Offering this is a point of difference for us.

For me as a consumer, browsing ink is a must. I always forget which cartridge I use and need to read the pack to locate my printer.
My local Big W have them in these theft proof cases with barcodes covering which printers they relate to. Very frustrating trying to read the compatible printers.

i have my ink cartridges on the counter wall behind in good display. i am not taking more risk to pro thief who steal in large quantities when you are over busy serving customers. i have bad luck with derwent pencils and ubd street directories before , so the risk is not worth it for me.

i have people offering me original inkcartridges for $5 each which cost at least $30 each, but I don’t buy from thieves. I wonder where they are from?

Probably from my shop….Yes I also get multitudes of offers, some have been from a major Newsagency up the road. It makes me irritable when they come in and offer.
