Newsagent and family killed in home attack

Newsagents are mourning the tragic killing of Min Lin, his wife Yun Li Lin and their two sons and another female relative at the weekend.  The family owned and operated the Rawson Street Newsagency in Epping Shopping Centre.  They have been clients of my software company since they bought the business years ago.  Those of us who had contact with them found them to good people to deal with.

I have opened this post for others who may want to comment.

I for one can not fathom what brings one human/s to do this to another especially with innocent children involved. Sincere condolences to the family.

    So sad.
I feel so sorry and concerned for the future of the surviving daughter.
She has a very hard road in front of her, but with caring and loving support around her, let’s hope she can come to terms with what life has handed her.

My condolences to the family. From the TV news reports last night they seem like nice people and respected by the community.

A caring industry association, state or national, would establish an endowment fund for the daughter and invite all newsagents to collect funds for this. I’d be glad to support this on my counter.

such a senseless attack, as in all other cases, humans not respecting each other’s rights/opinions.

Such a tragedy and I hope the authorities can get to the bottom of this.
Our condolences to the daughter and hope this will not rob her of her right to live life to the fullest.

Coolum Village has followed Warricks lead, and has a bucket on the counter.

We hope to see newsagents across Australia support the remaining daughter and keep an asset for her future.

    Mark,
Thank you for your kind words and thoughts regarding this shocking incident. Agents might like to know I have left my business card with Eastwood Police who are investigating as an Industry contact. I have also been in contact with all publishers who have been most helpful. Both newspapers have organised deliveries to continue until we hear from the family. Your idea to set up a fund for the Daughter is most thoughtful and shows that newsagents are a family and care about each other. NANA would be pleased to set up the fund and notify the Industry through this medium and others of the details.

Thanks Gary. If NANA could establish a collection point, I would be happy to promote the fund through here and elsewhere.
