Some media outlets not connected with newspaper distribution are looking at the challenges for newsagents, their families and their employees in the new contracts issues by News Limited last week. I am aware of several feelers being put out for interviews. It will be interesting to see how the story is reported.
After reviewing the News Contracts, I have the feeling they REALLY need us….however with no negotiation available to us…I have my exit plan sorted. Not even the Labour powered ACCC will recognise that many Australians will be disadvantaged by this contact incompetence, the fact that elderly and handicapped Australians will not get a paper ( unless delivered by Australian post) will be back at the hearts of the morons that designed…designed the contracts.

The QNF have this on their agenda for discussion at the Sunshine Coast Meeting on the 12/11/09 where they will discuss issues and formulate a group action (I hope that is the intent)…
Only concern is the meeting will also be attended by the ANF… and based on my experience this could well be a disaster if our interests v those of the ANF are not put first in the discussions.
Unfortunatly I am unable to attend and as this is an open invitation to both QNF and non QNF agents I hope we get a good turn up and a unified voice is heard with an agreed set out outcomes and actions opnely communicated to all…

As always the ANF are treated as the uninvited friends of vampires that are invited by some unifying thinking newsagent in discussions that involve newsagents. If people could just accept them as goths or emos that turn up to your daughters inpromt all welcome bbq at your home sometimes then everybody should get along fine.
