This announcement was the next step by News in a protracted dispute over the new contracts and the News Ltd migration project which seens to take control of customers won by newsagents through local marketing efforts.
The offer expires at the same time by which SA newsagents are required to have submitted signed new agreements with News.
I am a country newsagent in NSW and I have not heard anything about an increase. Not that I would want it with strings attached. I am not handing my customers to the Tele.
