Sales for just about any of the World Cup titles are excellent with sell outs being reported by many newsagents. Even Soccer International Magazine’s World Cup Program which arrived late in the cycle is selling well – our success has been at the counter as an impulse purchase – good considering the purchase price.
Part of what is driving such good sales of World Cup titles for newsagencies is our range of foreign language titles. These attract a broad cross-section of shoppers from countries with a strong interest in the game.
Newsagents not actively promoting their range of World Cup titles should take action today – there is still time to achieve excellent sales.
We have five titles of World Cup mags displayed prominently in our store.
We have not sold one single, solitary copy.
Oh, one delivery driver had a bit of a browse. That’s the extent of the interest around here in soccer.
If we sell out of scarves this weekend, I’ll twirl three times and whistle Dixie.

YG the trick is to early return them and i will guarantee people will want them . i didn’t think it would sell where i am so i packed most of it up and now every one wants it

We’ve only sold two mags despite a front of store display, but then we don’t have “a broad cross-section of shoppers from countries with a strong interest in the game.” I’ve early-returned about half the stock.
