New That’s Life part series

thats-life-sep2010.JPGWe are promoting the latest issue of That’s Life with a full waterfall in its regular location as well as this high traffic placement with our main newspaper stand this week.  The free copy of part one of their Real Food Fast part series publication makes it a good value purchase.  We are trying to encourage putaways like we do with all partworks.  sales from the frist day indicate good interest in the offer.

Here In Canberra we already had this series in Feb/Mar/Apr this year, initial sales were average although it didn’t last with sales rapidly decreasing after 2-3 issues. It will be interesting to see how it performs elsewhere. We have been landed with the series for a second time and will once again no doubt have to cover the cost of full copy returns for oversupply of a recycled series that was not succesful first time round.

Coles are advertising this on page 15 in their weekly catalogue that started today as “Buy That’s Life magazine and get Real Food Fast FREE…valued at $9.95”.

Good move promoting it this way Niall. Since it is a part series publication, connecting the first issue with your store gives you a chance to lock them in – but a supermarket not so much as they don’t provide added value services.

There are a few titles that seem to have had their supply numbers boosted today for no valid reason.

It’s the old story unfortunately. I’ve noticed with Network in particular that when I go in and set supply on their system (& which they don’t always seem to take notice of !) other items that I haven’t set supply on seem to magically get boosted even though there is absolutely no basis for this if they were truely setting supply based on sales.
