The new recipe Darrell Lea Rocklea Road cake is not selling so well this Christmas. All other Darrell Lea items have performed well. This Christmas cake is usually a winner. But not this year.
I suspect that the sales drop off this year is due to the new packaging, you can no longer see the cake, and the promoted new recipe – why change what was loved.
The drop off is not only in our stores, I have heard from others that sales are down.
We too have noticed the drop off in sales on the rocklea road cake. As one of our customers made a comment that it would be better to buy a large block of rocklea road, as the cake is not much heavier and seven dollars more expensive. I am sure it will be still on shelf after the 25th. Not a good change Darrell Lea.
can you return the unsold cakes or choc from darell lea?
Same here. It is a dog line so far. Customers are not fools. {Maybe Darrel should offer them to Woolies?)
may be you guys should promote this cake as ‘special dog food favourites this xmas’
