Did you receive Street Commodore Power Pack yesterday?

While I did not receive Street Commodore Power Pack I have heard from others who did.  One newsagent opened the pack and scanned the barcode on the main title – Street Commodore Poster Book.  They last received this exact product in 2007.  It has just been reissued in 2011 and tarted up in a ‘value’ pack with a new barcode.  Seriously!

So, did you receive this pack in your newsagency yesterday?

Magazine distributors who respect newsagents and are serious about being magazine distributors need to behave when it comes to product reissues – no matter how tarted up the reissue is.

sorry to be so pessimistic but NDC and GG don’t give a shit.

they send it to us, they get their fee. it’s now our problem if we lose money or not returning mags.

another thing, for the past 3 or 4 weeks straight, 1 parcel (the ones with all the junk titles from GG) will always be missing. significance of this is because when we report a missing parcel on GG website, it does not give us a choice of credit. SO this will be a problem when its near the monthly returns deadline.

anyone else have this experience or is it just us for past few weeks.

Commodores went straight in my “Early Returns” box along with a couple of other “Beautiful/Essential/ Load of S**T” titles that I wont even put on the shelves after reveiewing their previous sales history. I have a feeling my early returns box will need expanding this year if the early indications are a sign of things to come !!

@Ed – yep I seemed to have exactly the same thing happening for quite a few weeks there, though not always G&G. I also occassionally get my mags misdelivered to a service station down the road (go figure… Driver reads the delivery header and can’t tell the difference between a newsagency with a specified drop off location and a servo)

Thanks Mark; it’s a bloody joke that both Network and Gotch continue to do this…..we received same as well as other titles which have been early returned.
Another title; Disney Sticker Value Pack we received on Friday; which is also a load of crap, had been given a delayed billing, so we are stuck with the crap out the back!
Also, since i returned 38 pages from GG and 34 pages from Network (generated from Tower POS because of zero sales), i have never seen so much garbage the magazine distributors are sending me to offset all the cancelled titles……….and Ed, you’re spot on, GG and Network DO NOT give a shit!

    Vaughan,

I noted the same result and pattern when I cancelled a whole lot of non performing titles. Out came more new, and now non performing titles.
