Kudos to The Age today for pointing out that the current issue of Dolly and Girlfriend each features a young indigenous girls on their covers. Not sure how we promote this without being disrespectful. Just knowing is a start.

Why do you feel the need to promote this any different to any other issue ?
no need to worry now… the new dolly out today has a jewish new yorker. apparently a very good roll model for young girls on the issue of body image
Shaun, read the blog post – I am saying good on The Age for reporting this. Knowing the magazines have received media coverage may help us from a business point of view.
The fact that you might consider treating this magazine differantly would seem disrespectful to me. This lovely young girl obviously gave permission to be featured on the cover.
Don’t grab disrespect if none is intended. All I am saying is be aware. It’s good news.
i get what you are saying now it is basically free advertising for us BUT i don’t see what the age is on about ,come on it is 2011 and we still have to seperate what race is on the cover, and turn that into news . Shame on the Age for even thinking down that line .
I agree Shaun, shame on The Age. The story should have focused on the accomplishments of a young australian, not her race.
