We received two copies of the special commemorative issue of Time magazine this morning. If ever the magazine was going to sell significantly more copies than usual it would be this issue … oh, and the Osama Bin Laden death special which is coming. Why the people who manage allocations for Time did not increase supply, especially for proactive newsagents, is beyond me. We have ordered ten extra copies. I am confident we will see out of all twelve copies.
If Time is serious about growing sales in Australia it would have ensured that it had processes in place to make the most of the Royal Wedding opportunity. It would also ensure that it makes the most of the Osama Bin laden opportunity.
So, I ask the question, how serious is Time about Australia?
Maybe you weren’t considered proavctive enough or your sales didn’t warrant it? You should report back your final sales here to validate your argument. . Just sayin….. Jeff
Jeff, they did not take these factors into consideration. I’ll let people know how we go. I usually do here. I expect us to sell out.
Still a dumb move by the allocations people. They have the stock as our extras request for 10 was accepted.
i asked for some and they said there was no stock and that was early this morning
Just had a flick through this issue. I think the target audience for this issue is more Republicans, not people looking for any royal wedding news and photos!!
Time wants MY customers to subscribe for $2.77 an issue. That’s over 57% off the cover price!…and they’re offering a free water resistant Executive Watch… Won’t be wasting too much effort or retail space on this one.

Your from QLD right? I r-eordered on-line this morning (from Sunny Coast) they do have copy in QLD. Time historically doesn’t do great here, I got an increased supply but thought I’d take some more based on in store traffic
paul yes they must have the stock because they are sending me 10 that i didn’t even ask for . when i called up and asked just for 1 copy they said there was no stock so maybe they have done another print or am i getting someone elses returns ?
