Frankie magazine opportunity for newsagents

The current issue of Frankie magazine is not being sold in supermarkets for reasons I won’t go into here. This presents newsagents with an opportunity.

I’d suggest co-location – a good display in the usual location and a noter placement at the counter or toward the front of the enwsagency so that passers-by can see that you have it.

Remember, Frankie is a magazine with double digit year on year growth.

Publisher got burnt did they? Maybe newsagents are not that hard to deal with after all.

I noted the extra supply I received. However I have promoted Frankie heavily in the past and will try again. Frankie does really not fit my demographic unfortunately for it.

Peter there would have been no supply adjustment because of this.

I’m devastated!! I had a return of Frankie magazine this issue, the first since the very first issue I received. Whats gone wrong?(tongue in cheek).

15 copies next issue (tomorrow). The most we’ve received to date so I hope we get back on the sell out horse. This magazine has grown for us every time we give it the opportunity (until the current issue) and I expect this to continue.

My mistake, the current issue did grow in sales to a best to date 12, it’s just that we had that one return.

Sold out but I had to really sell the last 2.
I must say though “The thinking girls magazine” works well and sold my first ever SJ with the reverse line.

I suspect that the supermarket reason is the one a merchandiser pointed out to me about an article in the last issue. Nevertheless, I think Frankie must learn it’s lesson and hopefully not repeat, because it will be DEAD in my eyes if it does. I will try to continue supporting it however, because there is a huge missed opportunity for engaging female readers in its age group.

I might mention here how I now have FOUR putaways for “Mollie Makes” – all by “youngsters” – trend started earlier this year. Must investigate further, I wonder if online media has had an influence …………
