Beware of Ukash scam call

There is another scam being attempted against newsagents around the Ukash product. I have heard from several newsagents over the last two days about this. The caller says they represent ePay and they want the newsagents to do some things for them relating to Ukash.  ePay is not requiring such calls to be made.  This is a scam. read more here on other Ukash related scams which have affected newsagents.

I have requested epay to remove Ukash from all my terminals and send a written confirmation of this. We have lost $1500 from this product in fraud.

They are at it again today! Had a call from an Asian woman early this morning claiming to be from Epay! She said we had had several fraud Ukash transactions from our terminal yesterday, and they needed help to trace what had happened. I have had a sign stuck on our terminal for months stating Ukash transactions are not done by us – we could not have been involved.

My staff member suspected this was a scam call, and despite pleas from the other end, asked her to call back and speak to the owner after 9.00am.

Epay confirm we have not been frauded, and no call back from the mystery scammer.

    Beware!

Lance I’ve had calls from two other newsagents today about this. It seems like the scammers are hard at work.

These people are still out there and doing this unfortunately at this date. My disgust is that there is still access through our epay terminals and that no warning has been given on a regular basis to our terminals. Why is it still on there.
Why also is Ukash not available by phone so you can’t even do anything about cancelling these things????
