Promoting launch issue of SHAFT magazine

We are promoting the launch issue of SHAFT magazine from Morrison Media with full cover placement in our men’s magazine area, next to sport, fitness and personal training titles. This is adjacent to our trucking magazines.

We plan to give the title a few days with newspapers next week to get it in front of more eyeballs.

Please don’t bother with this magazine. It will not last long. Sorry in advance to the writers/publisher.

Having three(solid) articles related to mining, then the rest being fill. I’m sure blokes on mine sites are buying this in droves… not.

Must say though, I like the way the mag is bound. The paper stock is good too. Similar to Techlife(PCUser mag now rehashed).

The front/back cover binding give a more bookish feel to a mag. There’s something they’ve done but it works.

    Same here Shaun.
Full display in mutiple locations. Nil sold. We suggested the mag. to a customer who is in mining sector, looked at it but was not impressed.

i had a read of it and and basically didn’t have a clue what type of mag it was , just bits of what ever thrown into a magazine .

Unfair Shaun. Morrison Media has a track record of success with titles based on sound market research.

I have the title out and on display. It’s new and a point of difference for me.

I hope this is another success for them but i do not see it happening , i will be interested to see how it goes in a few months . How are your sales tracking for this tittle ?
Mark, who is the target for this magazine ? is it the miners . From what i see we have a few FIFO workers in town and they normally just stock up on fishing ,cars and bike mags with a few picture and people mags thrown in the mix

i see it’s future being a freebie at the mine sites . No offence to morrison media .
For the record i still have it on the shelf and not early returned ,i tend to give morrison media stock a bit more of a go because of the way they comunicate with newsagents but saying that at the end of the month if it still not performing then unfortunantly it will go back a week early
