Newsagents likely to have access to the chess board

I have heard from Network Services that Eaglemoss appears likely to agree for newsagents to sell the chess board for the DC Chess Collection about which I wrote earlier this week. I expect the chess board to be available on a firm sale bases. Newsagents could pre-sell the board to mitigate against customer orders not collected.

Will we be advised the board is available? Pre orders would in fact sort out and secure sales from customers that are serious about this part series. I’d consider this a win for Marks blog.

Yes Brendan. Last I heard there were some details to sort out. I am certain newsagents will have access.

Has anyone had confirmation of this because to date I’ve had no contact from Network or Eaglemoss on this issue, as such I’ve treated it as situation unchanged and DC Chess parts 1 & 2 out the back waiting to be returned.

    latest update from ANF email:

    Your move?

Some newsagents abandoned the Chess Partworks ‘game’ after reading of the Chess Board offer – only available to subscribers.

Newsagents have been turning customers away from purchasing the series or early returning the lot as they resent the publishers drawing customers away from the newsagency after they have provided display space and merchandising for the product.

However, following feedback from retailers, and after discussions with the publisher, the chess board will now also be made available at retail. (Further details to come from Network Services.)

Network reports that the series is selling very strongly

network telling porkie pies, i pulled mine off the shelf and early returned them.
how about the allocation of the cake decorating partwork?, i received 160 of part 1, sold about 8 i think (small country town), have been advised my allocation for part 2 is 16, what a joke network are. blatent abuse of the channel, wish ACCC had some balls, have advised network that they will need to arange a courier to pick up the returns (far nth qld) or i will claim them and dump them. sorry to the girl at network who copped the grumpy old newsagent this week 🙂

We put the Chess Collection back on sale and they are selling ok and creating put away customers.
Rick, I wish we had your supply of Cake Decorating. Two reorders and 100 sales later and we can’t get anymore and have customers looking for this title. The distributors obviously need to hold back more stock to make available for re orders rather than distribute large quantities to where they are not required and leave us to order according to demand.

yup same here, sold almost 200 with not a lot left. I’m still new to the channel but is it normal to be so under supplied for part works?

every week i don’t get enough to even fill putaways, always have to order more of the comics, dora, chess etc
