A new magazine ideal for foodies

Newsagents with foodies as customers should look at how to shop like a chef. This is a very specialised title from Universal Magazines. It’s only been supplied to the top 50 newsagents in the country in the food category. But others can order it. It’s on sales for three months with delayed billing. The price is $19.95 – I’ve seen the title and it’s worth it. The title is exclusive to the newsagency channel for the first two months.

I remember getting an email or seeing this on connections, but not sure which and now can’t find any info on it.
Is this out today, if not when? And who is distributing this magazine.

Just ordered last 8 copies from Network so publisher will need to release more stock for other food obsessed newsagents!

Dont think it was supplied to top 50 as I got 2 with the added conditions that would not b charged before the month of return. That is not cash negative. Maybe it is a WA trial.

Network obviously think I’m food obsessed.
Two weeks ago got 20 edi labels for aww mini spanish – no stock so put through a
credit on netonline. New stock arrived 2 days later x 20 copies.
Two days later 2 x 20 parcels arrived of same magazine.
Two days later 2 x 40 parcels arrived of
    same magazine.
Two days later 1 x 40 parcel arrived of same magazine.
This morning another parcel of 40 of the same magazine.
All because their “procedures” are not correctly in place.
If I put a credit through netonline it obviously gets handled by different people and no-one tells anyone else that the credit has been handled already.
220 x copies have arrived of a magazine that I was originally charged for 20 copies.

I have emailed Network with all the information and informed them that I will
be taking the $1k off my current account
    and sending them all back.

This is a perfect case of the left hand not knowing what the right hand is doing and
I cop the brunt of it with all the extras on
    my account.

    June,

ACP/Books (bauer) handle their own allocations. Infact that is the same for all the ACP mags aswell. Network do the delivery and billing. I understand your point, however they are near separate companies & in separate buildings. Strange but true.
Network look after the full service for the likes of Express/Universal etc but essentially are a truck, billing and warehousing operation for Bauer. I know this from previous gripes Ive had in the past. Doesn’t mean a great deal I know but Bauer/ACP deserves some of the brunt too in my opinion when they drown us with bloody cookbooks!

All newsagents should have been allocated a few copies of this magazine, with so many food magazines and books on the market it’s great to get something new and unique.
It really is a great mag!

This hasn’t worked for us. We’ll try a new location and see if it takes off.

Unfortunately the title doesn’t do the magazine justice. It has so much more content that the title suggests.
I think it will sell well if customers pick it up and take a good look inside.

If all newsagents were allocated this magazine there would be a stream of vitriol on this very blog complaining about it. I have my issues with allocations but the publishers/distributors are on a hiding too nothing sometimes. In my situation another high priced food mag into the mix isn’t something I necessarily want.
Trial it in the 50 largest newsagencies where thy can get good data and if it works roll it out seems a good plan to me.
