The things newsagents sell

I was in a newsagency a few months ago that was selling a poll for poll-dancing. My sexy little poll was not something I’d ever seen in a newsagency before. My first reaction was surprise.  Then, I thought why not? It fits with some products we sell already – kind of at least. Also, it lends itself to expanding into other areas like costumes. Yeah, why not sell a poll for poll dancing.

I bet across our channel, in newsagencies, we have products other newsagents would be surprised to sell.

Haven’t got pole dancing poles, but do sell our own honey and fruit in store, from our farm. Gets some raised eyebrows from the tourists 🙂

Same here Vicky, no pole dancing poles in my store, though I think they would sell. We’ve done eggs and Xmas trees from our place, native flowers from local flower farm, and my brothers hand made soaps.
A little farmers market within Newsagency could do ok.

Imagine a valentines day display with a pole dancing centrepiece!

I know plenty of locals who do it as a sport … hmmmmm … might need some in-store demonstrations 🙂 The local pole dancing school can promote their business while at the same time promoting the product! Win, win, win.

Your an ideas man Max! We get lots of pensioners on those motorised bikes whiz zing around with their orange flags flying and horns beeping as they reverse. Maybe some cool accessories for them would be a seller.

Mark, they’re pole dancing, not poll dancing. Poll dancing must be something that politicians do every so often, I think!

    Me? Trouble? Never!

We often joke that our workplace should be filmed for one of those sexual harassment “what not to do” videos. No subject are off topic here.

One of our girls actually does it for sport … but I know where she’d tell me to go stick the pole if I asked her for an instore performance.

Thanks Gavin. Yes Jarryd – a demonstration is in order. There’s a good market for high margin raunchy products like these.
