Art of Crochet selling out

Our sales of the reissue of Art of Crochet have been excellent. We’re not alone. I’ve spoken to plenty of newsagents this week who are reporting the same thing – the launch has been excellent and many newsagencies are sold our and scrambling for more stock.

The TV campaign has been for more successful that I or plenty of others expected.

This is really frustrating because already this morning we have been asked for this part work.We will have a whole weekend sending customers away. I ordered more of part 1 early as I thought we’d sell out and as expected there was no more stock.
Pleeeeeeeease let us set our own partwork supplys – we know BEST.

Jenny they tend to allocate the first six issues before the stock is here and usually not hold spare in the warehouse.

At least you got some Jenny. They sent us a ridiculous number of the maths, dollhouse and rocks ones but nothing of either the pocket watches or crochet. So while we have sold a few of the the ones we got we’ve spent the last week turning people away on the others which we probably would have prefered to carry. I’m also guessing the ones they have supplied will die off very promptly sales wise once they reach their full retail value and it will be rediculously hard to get the supply stopped or cut to the correct numbers.

Same here. Excellent sales. Plenty of customers asking for it on the back of the TV campaign.

I agree Jenny. A model where newsagents are able, but not obliged, to determine their own partwork supply (at the very least for the first issue) would go a long way to improving sales. This can be done months in advance if necessary.

We would have ordered more AOC based on previous sales if the opportunity had been given.

We may have even ordered more Rocks – we’ve been powering through our allocation of the first issue very quickly.

Was just told by a customer who has asked for dolls house to be put away that if they buy the first 5 issues they can then buy the actual dolls house.
I didn’t know of this last time it was on sale.

Jenny from memory wasn’t that the problem last time that they could only buy it direct and not off us ? is it the same this time ?

Shauns, I thought last time they could only get the dolls house if they subscribed for the whole series.

BTW, did anyone notice that the new Barbie partworks launches on the last day of the month instead of waiting for the first day of the next month ?
