Too many copies of fete magazine

We received our first issue of fete magazine last week, twice as many copies as we should have been sent to launch this titles to our customers.

I’m happy to launch magazines, especially low volume titles, but I am not happy receiving too much stock. the distributor has sales data for similar titles and would have known from this that they were oversupplying. In this case I early-returned stock.

Mark, we thought the same wen we received the first issue nearly as month ago but one of our staff members who is an loyal reader of Frankie decided to co locate Fete with Frankie and we are finding that customers are buying both. I know you have said in the past that Frankie is a good seller for you so I think you may find the same with this mag.
The thing I like best about these mags is the younger audience that it attracts into our store that return to make other higher gp purchases

We have had this magazine for 3 issues now, last issue I ordered more as we only received 4 copies. Only sell 5 or 6 per issue but thats ok. We were advised to locate with Donna Hay and Country Style, thanks Jessie will try with Frankie also. It is the stocking of these less popular magazines that give us ‘you have such a great range of magazines’ feedback which hopefully makes us a destination store.
