Rush on Knit & Stitch partwork

Sales of the Knit & Stitch partwork have been excellent in the first few days on-sale – no thanks to the lack of reasonable supply of marketing collateral and a display unit.

We have Knit & Stitch placed on the lease line, facing into the shopping mall as well as deeper in-store.  We’re chasing a sell out by the end of  next week – for sales as well as for space reasons.

Great sales unit helped lift our sales too. I was surprised, because we already have Art of Quilting and Crochet in progress, but this has picked up even more customers
The blokes like the Military Vehicles and the trains too, quite a few enquiries. Lets hope we are treated decently re quantities come parts 2, 3 4 etc

Likewise, we have it near the counter on a good display and all but sold out in the first week and should sell the rest this week.

Only received 10 (we’re in a shopping strip) and sold out first day !

It’s a pity it doesn’t appear that we can get more while there’s interest.

Whilst sales maybe good with the first issue ( as with majority of partworks ) I cant see the point of getting excited about a new partworks when after the first 2 or 3 issues we will be unable to get the correct number of stock to fulfill customer orders. Its the same with every partworks. I am sick of being abused because we dont get the correct amount we order. Everytime we ring either Network or Gotch its the same answer, ” due to popular demand we are unable to supply correct stock orders and they have been ordered ” the customers that come into my shop dont wont to hear that crap. I am seriously considering early returning every partwork issue we receive as its not worth the time chasing up backorders that never seem to arrive.

Murray 100% agree as i mentioned earlier this week with batman partworks ,I have 4 putaway customers that came in thursday chasing #3 only to be told i have no stock and will not untill issue 5 because GG thought i didn’t need any stock anymore . It is going to take untill issue 5 to get a standing order again and by that time old mate down the road will gain 4 new customers

I should also note i am not promoting the new army or train partworks this time round , i do have them on the shelves but no display . I am starting to see that it is not bringing in any new business just loosing future customers .If you cannot give a customer want they want today then tomorrow someone else is

Murray, you can call G+G and request that you receive NO new-release partworks. It has worked for us. Don’t know if it will work for NDC, probably not.

Seriously thinking of dumping all partworks.Had a put away customer come in yesterday and cancel Rocks and Minerals because they will get a free microscope for subscribing.
After getting over supplied with the first issue on which you make an astounding 50c gross profit/unit I then paid freight to return the unsolds (cost a damn sight more than I made) and then being sent too few of issues 4 and 5 (which are on back order as no stock availaible) the only conclusion is were being used and taken for a ride.

I always calculate whether it is worth the freight cost of returning any #1’s of a Gotch partwork, often not worth it at all. I leave them out on display though, and amazingly enough, they can sell through for months.
