Customers steal good gifts from magazine

The free SK ii facial treatment essence gift was missing from a copy of marie claire in a newsagency yesterday so I checked other copies.  None of the three copies of the magazine had the free gift.

It amazes me what gets stolen sometimes. The SK ii product is a premium gift, at the high end of magazine gifts with purchase. It would be interesting to track this type of theft.

We also had it stolen from the last copy we had. So we now return the last copy and it looks like we could not sell out.

I thought some of mine had gone missing too but they had actually rolled out of the packaging and were in the bottom of the shelf. Might be worth checking. It looks like the backing on the packaging isnt very good.

I have just approached a customer who was happily taking photos of the pages she liked in a wedding magazine, and I asked her to please stop. She said “sorry, I was just getting ideas for my wedding.”

In my eyes this stealing just like shop lifting is, but my gut feeling is that for this lady, she did not see it in the same way. She lingered for quite a while longer, but eventuallty left without purchasing anything at all.

h, we had a customer the other day who was taking photos of the outside and inside of cards so she “could print the photos at home and write the message on the back…”

h, Jessie, I mentioned this time ago about my experience with a lady taking photos from recipe books. It is simple, it is called theft and a breach of copyright, as far as I am concerned. I asked the lady politely to delete the photos and leave the shop. She new it was wrong and did as I asked. If you check the back of greeting cards they are all copyright, so it is illegal to copy or print in any form.

I had a lady (I use the term loosely) who undressed a Gollywog to steal its t-shirt……!
