I didn’t know what they were so did a Google. They would be very dangerous but I would not know I could not sell them. They make a very impressive site by the look of them.

Should the retailer have been aware of the banning ?
If so, how would they find out ?
Surely they are not expected to check the Govt. sites for all product offered to them by a wholesaler.

Carol a few years ago we had some local kids make their own and let them go, locals were calling the police station to report UFO’s. Not that I’m condoning it but it was hilarious….!
I hope the consumer authorities go after whoever sold the newsagent the lanterns too (assuming they weren’t directly imported by the newsagent from a foreign source)

caveat emptor ( let the buyer beware)
It is exceptionally easy ( and tax free in a lot of cases) to by online. The difficulty comes in trying to resell items that do not reach Australian Standards.
