Newsagents frustrated to receive Stationery News

I have been contacted by newsagents who received Stationery News magazine today and were billed for a full year subscription – when they did not subscribe.

This has been going on for at lest two years – newsagents being sent the title, unsolicited, with a charge to their magazine account with the distributor.

It takes time to fix and causes considerable frustration. Yet, no seems to be able to fix it permanently.

The experience is another magazine supply frustration that takes newsagent attention away from being better retailers.

Tried to call Gotch this morning and after sitting on the phone for 37 minutes on hold hung up and sent them an email. Will be watching intently to see how long it takes for the reply and what the reply is.

What’s the worse thing about this is that its a blatant piece of advertising that if someone wants to get it in front of us they should be giving us for free, not charging us $42 for and not having sent through to us by a magazine distributor who should only be sending us magazines for us to retail (not diaries, notebooks and other such that can always be obtained for higher GP elsewhere anyhow) .
