Is there a new cross stitch partwork coming

In the UK this week I saw the launch issue of a new cross stitch partwork. I suspect we will see this title here. I don’t mind partworks and am reconciled to part one needing to be successful by itself for us. If only we had control of what we received.

Mark – it’s not a cross stitch partwork, or even an embroidery partwork. It seems to be a mix of knitting, crochet and other yarn crafts.

The publishers and distributors of partworks need to stop the practice where newsagents get good supplies of early parts of the partwork but getting hold of the latter parts is almost impossible.

Of course they wont do that since they want to continue the situation where the only way to get all the parts is to take up some sort of direct offer from the publisher/distributor.

Part one is always a loss maker for me being in a rural town. The cost of returning unsold copies can never be made up by the 50c profit on selling part 1 for $1.99.
In fact as partworks are now the only thing I have to physically return the cost of them can never be recovered through sales, as soon as I get a customer for one supply stops and their forced to go direct subscription. Had a customer for build a ford mustang lasted 5 issues then supply stopped, went online and requested supply start again but it never did. Customers now gone direct and I’ve lost money once again.
