NEDS pitching online gambling

With NEDS now launched, there is another gambling player that is spending up pitching online versus in-store. While not pitching lottery products it is chasing dollars from the same pool.

Neds have no intention of distributing lottery products. To say they are stealing real lottery dollars is drawing a long bow. Soft gambling vs hard gambling are two disctinct pools.

Jim, are you referring to Lotteries as “soft gambling”? I’ve been pondering the definition of “soft gambling” lately as I am one of a half a dozen agents in my town and I turnover about 50k a week and not at the top of the sales list. Further to how much is spent the matter of online has got me thinking too, with all the talk of synthetic lotteries etc “is any form of online gambling responsible”? Just food for thought.

Its all about perceived risk. Hard gambling involves higher or more rapid staking eg roulette, blackjack, horse racing or sports betting. Soft gambling has smaller and lower frequency staking, eg lotto drawn once a day, bingo, meat raffle, cent auction.
