Blackhawk could sell more gift cards in Australian newsagencies…

…if they made easily available to us floor stands like they have placed in Coles supermarkets.┬áThese themed stands are excellent, and perfectly situated for impulse purchase at the entrance to the supermarket.

For years newsagents have sought better engagement from Blackhawk.

While margin is slim, a gift card purchase is a nice basket extension without inventory cost.

    Unprofitable by any measure. Why be an avenue for other organisations? Why give customers a reason not to buy high margin gifts?

    Our gift card customer tends to be customer that isn’t interested in our gifts. We sell to Grandmas and Grandads who don’t want the expense of posting presents to their grown children or grandchildren. They come to us for the beautiful specialised greeting card and then they want this to go with it. For us we are regional, and grown up famiies have moved away they know sending them a gift card will be practical and appreciated gift. Many of our older generation don’t get to major centres to buy them.

    Anybody worked out how to re order gift cards from Blackhawk? No response to order forms sent in???

    Fill in spreadsheet that they provide and email back to them.
    im still waiting for stock though, and Christmas is approaching. I certainly we hope to get ours soon
