Newspaper front page cover up

afr_nov15.JPGThe editorial and design folks at the Australian Financial Review must be disappointed at the desecration of the front page of the Queensland edition of their newspaper today.

The advertiser would be happy because you look at their ad ahead of the newspaper content.

Fairfax demonstrates little respect for Australia’s flagship business daily.

Get over the Post-It notes, Mark. Editorial and design folk get disappointed at lots of things. The AFR is in the business of business.

    ‘John’,

I love newspapers, good newspapers, and am disappointed to see them desecrated by this advertising stuck on top of stories and the masthead. I am also disappointed at the trash the ads leave when readers rip them off the front page in frustration.

I think it proves one thing, business that are a slave to share holders will always sacrifice quality to improve bottom line. The only way post it notes will disappear is if the newspapers feel it on the bottom line and I can’t see that happening soon. Mark, you should create a facebook group ‘Remove PostIts from newspapers’ and get people to join.
