just wondering who the new owners are of that huge newsagency in Chadstone.
This blog site might be a great way to market your newsagency if its for sale

Chadstone was sold to Suapnews. There goes another good newsagency. Supanews stores remind me of the old Myer World 4 kids, a business customers don’t like.

    geoff,
I assume you are referring to Supanews and not Suapnews as I haven’t heard of that newsagency chain. Probably in your haste to spit venom you must have typed incorrectly perhaps.
Judging by their phenominal growth your assertion that customers don’t like Supanews stores is either influenced by the owner of this blog or you’re just another victim of repeating idle gossip without any foundation.
Sit back and stare at the elephant in the room

    anon,
Supanews recently bought the newsagency that was our biggest rival in our suburb. Our sales have increased 40% since the takeover. We were initially concerned when supanews purchased the other newsagent but since hearing constant complaints from customers about lack of customer service and inflated prices we couldn’t be happier. The proof is in the figures!

    anon,

yes, I meant supanews. Sorry. How awful are their shops. I have been in three and each feels pale and cheap.

Chadstone used to be a good newsagency.

    Back to the topic.

If there is 3400 of us that BE has affected why aren’t we mentioned? I think we all should be regarded collectively as a million dollar debt. Not a lot of people owed small amounts to Mobius because of their dubios dealings.

I don’t understand how “we” can slip under the radar while ANZ,optus, vodafone, etc get the coverage. Everyone knows that we were BE agents, and we’ve been screwed just as bad as the big boys, if not more seeing we’re a face of BE as considered by the consumer.

    Michael,

The banks will always rank ahead as they are secured. We are not.

Newsagents need to have registered as a creditor. Many did not.

So Mark, from what I’ve read over the past months from everyone contributing, that it would be in the best interests of all newsagents around Australia to :

1 Cancel the direct debit with Mobius and all concerned.

2 Join the NSW class action even if you aren’t from that state seeing they are more “pro-active” with this issue than anyone else.

    3 Wait and see.

I’m not trying to influence anyone but I can see a better outcome for myself if I did this rather than seek expensive legal advice myself, and run the risk of being put at the bottom of the pile.

Susan the ANF action has less than 200 newsagents registered. You should join the one organised by NANA. Call NANA on 9744 0400.
