Drowning in Street Rodding magazine

fhn_streetrodding.JPGMagazine distributor NDD must know something we don’t because they increased our supply of Street Rodding magazine by 50% despite us selling less than half the last issue.  NDD gets our sales data daily, they would know that it is unlikely we will sell the 50% extra stock. I don’t blame the publisher, Graffiti Publications, this is an allocations issue.

All 3 suppliers do the same thing OVER SUPPLY if they are having a slow month all they have to do is over supply a few thousand newsagents and make budget for the month .The sales data that we send them every day is not worth anything they do not look at it ,they can’t .I had an issue with Network the other week about a few magazines that they reckon i never returned and i did ,and when i told them to have a look at my sales data that i send them every day they said it doesn’t prove anything .Yesterday GG decided to start sending me 2 james bond part works when since day one i have only sold one so where does the figure of 2 come from .For the last 4 weeks i have sold out of thats life ,do you think i can get my order increased NOPE ,again no looking at any sales data (apparently it is worth my while to travel the country side and collect magazines off my subbys when i run out …for 4 or 5 mags it is not going to happen .It seems the crap that does not sell they are quite willing to send our way in hope we could not be botherd to send it all the way back because of casot and the stuff that does sell they prefer to send it to closer destination so it doesn’t cost them as much .Anyweay this could go on forever but i must leave it at that because i have to go out the back and start packing up all the mgs that i am sending back from yesterdays delivery .,

I share your frustration. I cut down on this title a few months ago, maybe they haven’t cut down on how many in to be produced?

I also can’t believe the hide or stupidity of NDD still operating like that, with the Newsagent that has gone to lengths to resolve this issue AND that has a blog to write about it.

    Shaun,

    What newsagency do you operate?

I have some contacts at ACP/Network that have been most helpful in adjusting allocations etc They should be able to contact you this week
